Professor Jared A. Ellias to Present Paper at Yale Law School Roundtable

SAN FRANCISCO – Professor Jared A. Ellias, the Faculty Director of the Center for Business Law at UC Law SF, will present his paper “What Drives Bankruptcy Forum Shopping? Evidence from Market Data” at the 2018 Weil, Gotshal & Manges Roundtable hosted by the Yale Law School Center for the Study of Corporate Law in April. The paper has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Legal Studies.

Professor Ellias will be joined by discussants Richard Levin, an author of the bankruptcy code and the Co-Chair of Jenner & Block’s Restructuring and Bankruptcy Department and Adriana Robertson, Assistant Professor, University of Toronto Faculty of Law. The panel will be moderated by Nancy Liao, John R. Raben/Sullivan & Cromwell Executive Director, YLS Center for the Study of Corporate Law and YLS Associate Research Scholar in Law.

The Weil, Gotshal & Manges Roundtables are one-day events that seek to foster a dialogue on the important business law issues of the day through presentations of scholarly papers and panel discussions. Leading corporate lawyers, members of the business and investment communities, public officials and scholars participate in the roundtables.

About Professor Jared A. Ellias

Professor Jared A. Ellias joined the UC Law SF faculty in the Fall of 2014, after serving as a lecturer and teaching fellow at Stanford Law School. Prior to joining Stanford Law School, Professor Ellias was an associate in private practice at Brown Rudnick LLP in New York, where he represented financial institutions and ad hoc and statutory creditor committees in corporate restructuring transactions, both in and out of bankruptcy court. He has trial experience in the Bankruptcy Courts of the District of Delaware, the Western District of Louisiana and the Southern District of New York.
