Mieke Eoyang (’02) Appointed Cybersecurity Adviser for Biden Defense Department
UC Law SF congratulates Mieke Eoyang, Class of 2002, on her recent appointment as deputy assistant secretary of defense for cyber policy.
Eoyang will lead the Department of Defense’s cyberspace policy and strategy, integrating it with national policy. Her mission is to provide guidance and oversight on defense cyberspace activities as they relate to foreign threats, international cooperation, engagement with foreign partners and international organizations, and implementation of strategy and plans.
She most recently served as vice president for the national security program at Third Way, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank. The appointment is a return to government service for Eoyang, who previously served as an adviser to the congressional intelligence and defense committees and as a defense policy adviser to former Sen. Edward Kennedy. She also worked for California Congresswoman Anna Eshoo as chief of staff.
