CEALS Appoints Jeff Layman as Affiliated Scholar

CEALS is honored to announce the appointment of alumnus Jeff Layman as an Affiliated Scholar.  Mr. Layman is currently deputy general counsel for Venture Global LNG.  He has over 25 years of experience advising on cross-border business transactions in China, and he recently returned to the US after practicing for 17 years in Hong Kong and Beijing. Mr. Layman is the former China Country Counsel for the Boeing Corporation, where he was the primary attorney responsible for Boeing’s business operations in China. Prior to serving at Boeing, he was a partner and chief representative of the Beijing office of Baker Botts and also practiced with Millbank in China and Hong Kong.  Chambers, Legal 500, and Who’s Who Legal have recognized Mr. Layman as one of Asia’s leading business lawyers.  He has mentored many law school students and graduates interested in China.
