Alumni Invited to UC Law SF Campus for Spring Week Festivities
From watching the SF Giants take on the LA Dodgers, to meeting classmates at a reception at San Francisco City Hall, UC Law San Francisco alumni are invited to a week of exciting activities for this year’s Spring Week, taking place from April 12 -15.
Last year more than 200 alumni from different classes reunited at Spring Week events and raised over $100,000 for the law school during its annual Day of Giving.
This year’s festivities kick off at Oracle Park, when alumni are invited to watch the San Francisco Giants take on the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, April 12. Those in attendance will be treated to a VIP reception before the first pitch is thrown at 6:45 p.m.
On Thursday, April 13, Chancellor & Dean David Faigman will host a virtual Town hall from 12 noon to 1 p.m. to talk about the state of the law school. Thursday is also UC Law San Francisco’s Day of Giving, where students, faculty, staff and alumni are encouraged to support scholarships, student organizations and other school resources through philanthropy and donations.
Alumni are also invited to attend a special 20th anniversary celebration for the law school’s top-rated Center for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 14. The celebration will include panels of students and alumni discussing tips for developing an arbitration/mediation practice and reflections on CNDR’s accomplishments and future.
Friday the celebration continues, starting off with special behind-the-scenes tours of the law school’s newest building, located at 198 McAllister Street. The 14-story tower, which will open this summer, will feature a new dormitory called The Academe at 198, along with learning spaces that include a mock courtroom, journal suite, and other amenities. Tours will be held at 10 a.m., 12 noon and 2 p.m.
Later that day, all classes are invited to a one-of-a-kind alumni celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. at San Francisco City Hall (Address) featuring music, dancing, food, and beverages.
The week’s celebrations continue into Saturday, when the classes of 1963, 1968, 1973, 1998, 2013 and 2018 are welcomed back for a Milestone Jazz Brunch, outside on the fifth-floor Sky Deck of the Cotchett Law Center at 333 Golden Gate Ave. The brunch will feature a live jazz band, along with brunch and mimosas.
“Spring week is about bringing alumni together,” said Meredith Jaggard, executive director of the UC Law SF Alumni Association. “It’s an ode to, ‘Let’s just have a good time and engage with law school graduates in a way that creates community.’”
