Consortium Health Justice Series: Call for Applications

Consortium Health Justice Series

The UCSF-UC Law SF Consortium on Law, Science & Health Policy invites funding proposals for events, conferences, workshops on topics related to health justice. Proposals may range in amount from $250-$20,000 and can be submitted by any member of the community interested in designing and organizing a convening related to health justice. This can include faculty, staff, students/learners, and community organizations or individuals. Collaboration across groups is strongly encouraged.

The Consortium will aim to fund 4-5 proposals, with events to be held in the 2024-2025 academic year.

The purpose of the Consortium Health Justice Series is to:

  • Uplift a diverse array of voices across campuses and the community in rigorous conversation about health justice issues facing our community and others. Health justice, sometimes also called health equity, can be defined as the ways in which law and policy interact with other determinants of health to positively or negatively shape health and health care outcomes. While law and policy shapes the health of everyone, health justice particularly considers the ways in which the health of certain people or groups is unfairly and disproportionately affected by the interaction of laws, policies, health systems, and society.
  • Provide funding, resources, and other logistical support to individuals or groups seeking to bring attention to a health justice issue, deepen our understanding of it, and advance solutions and action through events, workshops, and conferences.
  • Support and deepen multidisciplinary and multistakeholder connections and interactions across campuses and community.

Proposals are due March 31, 2024 at midnight and should be submitted via email to Rachel Blanchard at blanchardrachel@uclawsf.edu. For the full RFP and required proposal elements, please see the downloadable documents below:
