On April 16, 2024, Prof. Manoj Viswanathan presented Damage Award Taxation and Distributive Justice at the UC Law SF Faculty Colloquium. The paper discusses how tax consequences of certain “make whole” remedies can fail to properly restore recipients, and under what circumstances these damage awards should be modified.
