Bio
Julia Mezhinsky Jayne is the founder of Jayne Law Group, P.C. She is an experienced and accomplished trial lawyer who concentrates her practice on both white collar and general criminal defense. She represents a broad array of individuals and small businesses in state and federal court, at the investigative, pre-trial, and trial stages. Prior to opening her own practice in 2006, Ms. Jayne worked as a white collar criminal defense lawyer at a San Francisco-based law firm and prior to that, as an Assistant District Attorney. Professor Jayne has been teaching Trial Advocacy at UC Law SF since 2003. Many of her former students have gone on to become prosecutors, public defenders, private defense attorneys, and successful trial lawyers.
She is a member of several distinguished panels and organizations in the federal bar, including the Criminal Justice Act Panel (“CJA Panel”) for the Northern District of California, the Women’s White Collar Bar Association, and several committees of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Professor Jayne received her J.D. from Hastings in 1999 and her undergraduate degree in Communication Studies from UCLA.
