Undergraduate Degree: B.S. in Broadcast Journalism, Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University

Career Interest: I am currently working in commercial litigation with a healthy amount of labor and employment matters mixed in. My future interests include an aviation law practice and appellate specialization.

Activities/Clubs at UC Law SF: Moot Court, Student IT Help Desk technician specializing in Macs and iOS.

Zach’s story: When I arrived at UC Law SF, my entire focus was on my career goals. I took Pretrial Practice (which covered drafting a complaint, completing discovery, advocating in law and motion, and moving for summary judgment), Taking and Defending Depositions, Trial Advocacy I and II, and Negotiation — all excellent practical skills classes that really gave me a head start when I entered a firm environment. I’ve used something I learned from each of these courses in my practice. If your goal is to produce quality work product when you join a firm, the kind of work that can be filed in court with minimal partner revisions, UC Law SF’ practical skills classes are a must.
