Bio

Adjunct Professor Chris J. Wood is a firm partner at Wykowski & Wood, LLP in San Francisco. He specializes in corporate, transactional, and tax work for the nation’s growing cannabis industry and has negotiated and structured significant capital deals totaling over $500 million in aggregate investments. He advises publicly traded companies, private equity firms, and cannabis businesses on investments, distribution deals, IP licensing agreements, joint ventures, corporate reorganizations, and mergers and acquisitions. Presently, he serves as outside general counsel to some of the largest cannabis companies in California. In the past, he has served as co-counsel in numerous trials in Federal Court and the U.S. Tax Court, as well as the industry’s most important cases, such as the successful defense of Harborside Health Center (the nation’s largest dispensary) and Berkeley Patient’s Group (the oldest operating dispensary).

Professor Wood earned his J.D., cum laude, from UC Law SF in 2012 and his B.A. from UC Berkeley, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa, in 2008.
