Bio
Gabriel primarily focuses on supporting each year’s graduating class. An active attorney, mediator, certified health and wellness coach, MBTI coach, and stress management coach, Gabriel helped start several award-winning television series for MTV and has directed feature films and music videos. He brings extensive litigation experience settling cases as an attorney representing both defendants and plaintiffs and as a panel mediator for the Bar Association of San Francisco. He began his legal career at York, Hanawalt, and Brock before starting his own law firm. He has mediated cases for the SF Department of Police Accountability for over 10 years, resolving disputes between citizens and police officers. He has arbitrated homeless shelter disputes for SF Human Services since 2012. While at UC Law SF, Gabriel completed the Group Justice Clinic, working with female prisoners. He also worked for the SF Public Defender’s Office, the Drug Policy Alliance’s Office of Legal Affairs, and he has been a volunteer attorney for the AIDS Legal Referral Panel for over 16 years. Gabriel received his B.A. from the USC Film School, his M.A. in Social Thought from NYU, and his JD from UC Law SF. He studied Irish Film at Trinity College in Dublin, and painting in Madrid’s Prado Museum. In addition to his legal practice, Gabriel is an accomplished playwright and basketball fanatic, hosts an annual film festival and regularly guest lectures for organizations such as the Bar Association of San Francisco and SF Regional Mensa. He brings creativity to students and graduates, helping them develop new and existing pathways to careers they feel passionate about.
