Internships and Career Opportunities
The Center for East Asian Legal Studies is committed to helping students achieve positive job outcomes and tap into professional opportunities in the region.
The Center’s faculty work closely with the Office of Career & Professional Development and the Alumni Center to advise students on job strategies and networking, establish internship placement relationships, organize career events, and publicize jobs and internships, and connect students with alumni in the region.
UC Law SF has a large network of alumni with professional interests related to East Asia. Our graduates are leaders in private practice, business, government, public interest organizations, and academic institutions across the region. Alumni mentors volunteer to answer student questions, provide career-related advice, and help students bridge the gap between law school and practice.
The Center organizes regular career building events focused on East Asia to connect students and recent graduates to practicing attorneys throughout the region.
Other Internship Resources
The Center maintains an Internet group called the UC Law SF Asian Law Network. This Internet group is open to all UC Law SF students, faculty and alumni. The group provides regular updates on jobs, internships, research opportunities, language training, and public events in or related to East Asia.
UC Law SF students have secured jobs and internships at a wide range of leading private firms, government institutions and non-governmental organizations in Asia (or with substantial interests in Asia).
