FY 2019-20 Annual Report
“Throughout this tumultuous year, the UC Law SF community demonstrated resilience and character. Students and faculty adjusted swiftly to an online teaching platform; staff provided herculean levels of support to the entire community; and alumni, facing their own professional and personal challenges, contributed time and money at unprecedented levels of generosity. Crises have the unintended consequence of revealing a person’s—and an institution’s—true character. The multiple crises of 2020 demonstrate beyond any doubt the integrity and cohesion of our community.”

The Numbers
In the 2019-2020 fiscal year, our community gave back. Philanthropic donations in the form of current use gifts and revenue from endowed funds made up roughly 20 percent of UC Law SF’s overall budget. These funds provided invaluable support to our faculty, students, and campus expansion in a year when our institution needed it the most. Thank you.
Since the 2000-2001 fiscal year, the percentage of the UC Law SF’s budget funded by the state has decreased from 40 percent to 18 percent. It is because of the generosity of our alumni community that we can continue to fulfill our mission of providing an innovative and inclusive legal education that prepares diverse students to excel as professionals, advance the rule of law, and further justice. On behalf of all of us at UC Law SF, thank you.
