Bio

Merav Avital-Magen joined the Center for Innovation (C4i) as a Research Fellow in 2024, as part of the AI Law & Innovation Institute (AILII).

Merav graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem Faculty of Law – LL.B. & MBA Track and clerked for the then State Attorney, Edna Arbel (appointed Supreme Court Justice in 2004).

Merav is licensed to practice law in Israel and California, and between 2002 and 2009, while residing in California, she worked as a Securities Litigation Associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she handled all professional aspects of client files in commercial, securities, white-collar crime, VC, and M&A related litigation.

Between 2009 and 2023, Merav specialized in regulatory and compliance issues as Deputy General Counsel of the Association of Banks in Israel, Deputy Director of the International Department at the Money Laundering and Terror Financing Prohibition Authority, and as Senior Advisor at the International Department of the leading Tel-Aviv law firm, Yossi Levy & Co.
