Scholarships
UC Law SF offers partial scholarships in the form of tuition waivers for exceptional LL.M. applicants. Please note that a majority of tuition, fees, and living expenses must be covered by students.
We offer three types of scholarships:
The Thomas Franck Merit Scholarship
- The Thomas Franck Merit Scholarship is a merit-based full tuition scholarship based primarily on academic performance. Applicants must submit their completed LL.M. application and separate application for the Thomas Franck Merit Scholarship by the deadline of February 1 to be considered.
- NOTE: UC Law SF must receive your completed application from LSAC, including all transcripts, letters of recommendation, and any other supplemental materials, by no later than February 1. It can take weeks for LSAC to process and evaluate transcripts and process TOEFL/IELTS scores. Please plan accordingly and apply early. Your application will NOT be considered complete until we receive your completed application from LSAC, and we will not review scholarship applications with missing materials after February 1. The committee’s scholarship decision will be made after March 1.
The Virginia Leary Merit Scholarship
- The Virginia Leary Merit Scholarship is a merit-based partial-tuition scholarship. All applicants who apply by the priority deadline of March 1 will receive full consideration. No separate application is required for this scholarship.
International Scholarship (Need-Based Scholarship)
- A limited number of need-based partial tuition scholarships are available in the form of tuition waivers. Applicants who wish to be considered for our need-based scholarship must answer the optional scholarship application questions on your online LL.M. application. Priority consideration will be given to applicants who apply by the priority deadline of March 1.
