Departmental Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Plans
UC Law SF is committed to ensuring that our stated values of diversity, equity, and inclusion are infused into every aspect of the College’s operations. This includes asking that each department commits to continual review of their practices and procedures, setting actionable and measurable goals for supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Training
The Department of Human Resources works to improve college-wide employee engagement in learning and understanding issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. They will be developing an ongoing employee training program for managers and non-managers.
Learn moreBook and Scholarship Discussions
One partnership with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Working Group, the law library, and the Chancellor and Dean’s Office is a regular program of facilitated book and scholarship discussions related to various topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion. All staff are invited to join these events and engage with facilitated discussions with their colleagues, as well as faculty and students.
Inclusive Staff Hiring Practices
The Department of Human Resources is continually considering ways to strengthen the recruitment process through enhanced diversity-focused outreach that includes introducing the College’s diversity-related goals during applicant review and interviewing. Human resources is also constantly reviewing the staff recruitment process and identifying new ways to incorporate DEI themes into the process in a consistent and standardized way, including through interview questions, diversity-focused application questions, a clear and updated DEI statement on every job positing, and outreach and efforts to increase the diversity of application pools.
