Foundation Board of Trustees Commitees
The mission of the Academic Engagement Committee is to work with professors and alumni experts in presenting on‐campus and off campus programming, and the pairing of professors and alumni speakers for these events; organizing classroom guest lectures with prominent alumni speakers or panels; providing programming to reconnect alumni with UC Law SF, bringing them back for on‐campus lectures and regional MCLE and other seminars featuring UC Law alumni and faculty.
The mission of the UCLAS Liaison Committee is to increase active communication and involvement with the UC Law SF student body.
The mission of the Board of Trustees’ Fundraising, Connecting & Giving Committee is to foster a supportive fundraising community within the Board of Trustees, to spread knowledge and enthusiasm for the direction UC Law is taking to those on and off the Board who would share our commitment to support the College if they only knew more, to support and host outreach events to all members of our community, and generally to support the philanthropic efforts we inspire.
Per our bylaws, the Finance Chair meets annually with the Dean and Development Director to identify financial and development goals; a representative (if not the President) meets with Board of Directors to present our accomplishments, interact and solicit input; the committee participates in the Audit and Review process, Form 990 preparation, (both done jointly with the College) with the College CFO, David Seward.
The mission of the Nominating Committee is to attain and maintain a full complement of qualified voting trustees and officers, as authorized by the board, with increasing diversity of membership and board leadership that spans race, color, national origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and military service; as well as class year, practice area, and geographic location.
The mission of the Planned Giving Committee is to promote and expand membership in the Legacy Society, planning for Legacy Society events and providing expanded education and outreach on planned giving opportunities.
The mission of the Stewardship committee is to increase donor and trustee engagement and participation through meaningful acts of acknowledgment and appreciation and foster a greater sense of community among trustees and the greater UCH community, including current students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
