Monisha Bhatia

Bio
Monisha Bhatia is an Assistant Professor of Hospital Medicine at UCSF, with academic interests in patient safety, quality improvement and healthcare regulation, especially surrounding communication between doctors and their patients. She is also affiliated with the Institute for Health Policy Studies.
She is involved in research groups at UCSF examining diagnostic excellence, the patient experience of discharge communication, and patients leaving the hospital against medical advice. She leads the Accelerated Discharge Program, an effort to improve and expedite the discharge process for patients on Hospital Medicine at UCSF Parnassus.
Her work has been published in the Medical Care, BMC Geriatrics, and The Journal of Hospital Medicine. She is originally from Nashville, Tennessee.
