Bio
Bret DiMarco is the Chief Legal Officer of Pendo.io, a private company whose mission is to elevate the world’s experience with software and to drive the transition to product-led business. Pendo has been consistently named one of the best places to work by various publications, including Inc., and has been financed by some of the world’s leading venture and private equity firms. He was previously the Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of Coherent, Inc., a Nasdaq-listed multinational corporation based in Silicon Valley up to the closing of its sale to II-VI Incorporated, when he became a Special Advisor to the President during a transition period. Prior to that he was a member and associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto, focusing on the representation of public and private companies and mergers and acquisitions. While at the firm, he was also the co-chair of the firm’s Education Committee and a member of the Hiring Committee. He recently completed an extended term as Chair of the Nasdaq Listing and Hearings Council and has just been appointed as the Chairman of the Nasdaq Exchange Nominating Committee and as a member of the Nasdaq Exchange Review Council. He is also a Judge Pro Tem for the Superior Court of Santa Clara County and started as an adjunct assistant professor of law in January 2004 (making this spring his 20th year teaching at the school). He previously served for six years as a member of the Board of Directors of Girls Leadership, a national non-profit corporation and was on the Board of Trustees of Woodland School, a private school in Silicon Valley, for over ten years.
