Bio

Donald Quigley moved to the Bay Area in 2014 for family reasons upon retirement as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for both Maine Medical Center and it’s parent organization, MaineHealth. He served in that role at the Medical Center for over 28 years and during the last 17 years at MaineHealth when it grew from comprising Maine’s only tertiary care teaching hospital into a ten-hospital health system with over 50 corporate entities. In addition to serving as a senior executive with both organizations he headed a legal department of eleven, including seven attorneys. His personal legal experience and responsibilities included nonprofit corporate governance, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and complex transactions, drafting contracts and corporate documents, medical staff issues, management of malpractice and employment liability claims and litigation, and insurance program management.

Prior to becoming a healthcare Chief Legal Officer, he was engaged in the private practice of law for over 15 years in a small general practice Maine firm with a concentration in civil and criminal trial practice, healthcare, construction, agribusiness, real estate, and corporate law. Mr. Quigley is a graduate of Boston University School of Law.
