Bio

Jennifer Kim is a practicing attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell, LLP as a litigator. Jennifer has developed a rich pro bono practice. Through her leadership in the firm’s Asian South Asian Middle Eastern affinity group, she successfully advocated to bring on Stop AAPI Hate as a pro bono client, completing projects ranging from combating anti-AAPI hate to educational equity. Jennifer also served on the team representing Eric Garner’s mother in an inquiry into the investigation of his death. She is currently working on active cases advocating for cities’ rights to pass assault weapons bans and federal employee access to disability accommodations.

Prior to attending law school, Jennifer was an elementary school teacher, joining Teach for America and continuing to teach at her school in East Harlem for five years. Jennifer currently serves on the Legal Advisory Committee of the Silicon Valley Urban Debate League; the Associate Board of the Korean American Community Foundation of SF; the Board of the Harvard Law School Asian Pacific American Alumni Network; and recently finished her Pathfinder year for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. She is currently a city commissioner in San Mateo, CA.

Jennifer earned her A.B. from Harvard University (2012), her M.A.T. from Relay Graduate School of Education (2014), and her J.D. from Harvard Law School (2020).
