Juliana Salfiti, a partner at Wilson Elser, is an accomplished civil litigator with vast experience in trial work, complex litigation and commercial litigation. Juliana defends companies and individuals sued in transportation, products liability, premises liability, personal injury, toxic tort and general litigation matters. Her areas of interest include transportation, personal injury, premises liability, toxic tort (talc and asbestos litigation), commercial, real property, landlord-tenant, unlawful detainer, real estate transactions, property management, construction, product defect, product liability, contracts, leases, insurance defense, general business advice and risk management/counseling matters. Juliana’s representative clients include national and local manufacturers, international retailers, pharmaceutical companies, property development companies, contractors, architects, corporations and business owners in a wide variety of service, sales and product industries. Juliana has practiced in nearly all California counties, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States District Court (Bankruptcy).
Juliana creates exit strategies for her clients at an early stage, mapping out and evaluating potential case outcomes for their respective benefits and risks, including verdict analyses. Where needed, she develops leverage opportunities to put pressure on opposing parties. The client’s business and litigation goals are crucial to and closely integrated with this assessment. Depending on the client’s stated interests, the matter may be defended pre-lawsuit, by motion at the pleadings stage or after discovery, at trial through verdict or on appeal. No matter the approach, the client’s preferred course is implemented in a focused, budgeted manner, with regular and timely updates provided on case developments.
Juliana also serves as the Regional Representative in San Francisco for the firm’s WAVE (Women Attorneys Valued & Empowered) program which exemplifies the firm’s progressive approach to advancing the professional and personal well-being of its women attorneys. Its mission, embraced by the entire organization, is simple and straightforward: “To attract, develop and retain women attorneys by enhancing and strengthening their skills and by providing career-advancing opportunities in client service, business development and leadership.”
Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Juliana represented clients in matters related to landlord-tenant disputes, real estate transactions, and legal issues involving real property, product defects, strict liability, professional liability, contracts, leasing, construction and commercial matters. Juliana also served as general counsel to a real property investment corporation in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, navigating real property transactions and real estate investments.
Outside the courtroom, Juliana is committed to her community and volunteers for nonprofit companies and charity organizations. Born and raised in San Francisco, California, she enjoys the challenge of hiking and running obstacle course races.
