Bio

Madeline (Maddie) Thomas received her BA magna cum laude from UC Davis with majors in Philosophy and Political Science, and a minor in Human Rights Studies in 2019, and received her JD cum laude from UC Law San Francisco in 2022. While at UC Law SF, she served as Co-Chair of the Moot Court Team, and competed on and coached several competition teams. As a competitor, she earned national awards for Best Oral Argument and Best Brief. She also interned/externed with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California, the California Attorney General’s Office, and the California Supreme Court. After law school, Maddie returned to the California Attorney General’s Office where she is now a Deputy Attorney General in the Appeals, Writs and Trials Section in the Criminal Division, working on a variety of criminal appellate matters. Maddie lives in San Francisco, and is passionate about justice, ethics, and education.
