Bio
Professor Zac Henderson’s research is currently centered around the nexus between the law and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and blockchain (to name a few), with a particular focus on the effects these technologies are having on healthcare, national security, and the domestic and global economy. Zac also serves as a senior researcher for the law school’s Center for Innovation, as well as for its AI Law & Innovation Institute.
Zac’s experience prior to joining UC Law SF includes serving as General Counsel of and advisor to hyper-growth technology companies, litigating complex commercial and white-collar matters in the Chicago office of the law firm Kirkland & Ellis, and spending two years clerking on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. His prior scholarship has been cited in state and federal opinions, as well as in briefs to state supreme courts and to the Supreme Court of the United States.
Zac holds a law degree from The University of Chicago Law School and a bachelor’s degree from The University of Arkansas, and is in the process of completing a Master’s in Economics from Johns Hopkins University.
